Learn from a Certified Professional

Every ATC-registered Alexander Technique teacher has completed a minimum three-year, 1600-hour training course at a certified teacher-trainee school, and meets the international standards of the Alexander Technique Affiliated Societies (ATAS). These teachers are certified and listed in our Teacher Directory.

Alexander Technique Canada’s Code of Professional Conduct provides a common standard of professional conduct that the public can expect every teacher to follow. Teachers acknowledge that a breach of the Code may lead to disciplinary action. Sections within the Code include Maintaining Standards of Practice, Duty of Care by Teachers, Privacy, Harassment and Discrimination, Teacher–Student Relationship, Teacher–Colleague Relationship, Teacher–Public Relationship and the Complaints Process that can be utilized by the public, students, or Alexander Technique teachers.

Teachers are dedicated to serving the best interests of their students, which includes enabling them to make informed choices about their lessons.

Teachers commit to lifelong learning and are responsible for maintaining the skills, knowledge, judgment, and competence necessary for the highest possible quality of education and care of their students.

When you stop doing the wrong thing,
the right thing does itself.

Testimonial

“I am so grateful that I get to teach the Alexander Technique and share these amazing principles with others. The most rewarding thing about teaching is seeing how excited students become when they reach new goals, milestones, and discoveries. I find myself excited by the prospect that every student presents a new teaching challenge, and I am constantly learning to improve my knowledge and abilities to meet their needs. Whether it be for relieving pain, learning to wind down, or overcoming one’s limits, I firmly believe that the Alexander Technique has something for everyone.”

unlearning instead of learning, you have them
in the frame of mind you want.
